Stoop Kid

I don't know why I love being so shapeless but it's a silhouette I constantly lean towards. I've recently become more daring in layering experimentation and this ruffle dress/ oversized sweater combo has really been working for me. It's a little bit more feminine than my usual uniform, but I think it goes quite well with my neighborhood.

East

Wearing a Michael Kors coat with docs and studded shorts would probably cause Michael himself to cry, but I love the mixing of all things that shouldn't go together.  Brick Lane, for example mixes the grungiest art and vintage shops with the liveliest street performers and an atmosphere that is indescribable.  Sometimes the things that we would never think go hand in hand are perfect for eachother.

ABK

I find it strangely comforting to wear pieces that are essentially straight lines.  I have a few dresses similar to this that I belt, but I have found that this one is better with an even more shapeless sweater layered over it.  It's everything you need for lazy afternoons in southern California.

(also no idea why this brown wall washes me out.. but I like it)

Natural Mystic

This dress has withstood my constant layering for years, but today I decided to wear it solo.  Although wearing it in Venice Beach did prompt a few hippies to serenade me with songs from Bob himself, I like to think of it as my version of the classic little black dress.  It's perfect for twirling around and (not) making a fool of myself.  I also much prefer wearing a beanie as an accessory rather than using it to keep my head from freezing off.

Clocking In

There is nothing better than defrosting in the SoCal sun at the end of December.  I find myself throwing my favorite military green jacket over my summer basics to shield myself from the coastal breeze; or at least to make myself look somewhat seasonally appropriate.
