MDW

I've never been one for summer colors, but summer hemlines, yes. Say hello to one of the only non-sheer tops I own. I'm slowly getting rid of the pale I've developed from living on the east coast for two years.  Also teaching lessons in how to look mean while eating ice cream.

Romp

The heatwave that hit SoCal last week required nothing but one piece outfits.  I hadn't worn this romper since high school, but now that we have been reunited I'm having trouble wearing anything else.

Renew

Playing with Oxfords that I bought a year ago and never wore. If my sweater obsession doesn't stop during summer at least my footwear will be appropriate.

Black and Blue

"Hello my friend, I see you're back again
Hello mystery, don't bother to explain
How about maybe it's all been in my head
Hey world, I'm tired of this black & blue"

{Really vibing this today}

Velvet London

Early morning post-rain wander around Notting Hill in velvet and suede. I purchased this romper in London in January because my southern California mind is pre-programmed without seasonal awareness.  Who needs convention anyways?

Paris 2

Quilted, semi-oversized bomber jackets are my new go- to,
and perfect for running around Paris in the refreshingly warm spring weather.

Zion

Sheer polka dot shirt dress and the best 10th tribe beanie I own. Winter tried to come back this week so I'm fighting it with oversized clothing.
I'm 99% sure oversized still counts when sheer.

Brighton

I took a day trip to Brighton this past weekend,  I had never been before and I absolutely loved it.  It reminded me of everything I love about all of my favorite places back home.  Naturally, I had to document my outfit, because who doesn't wear faux leather on faux leather on denim on velvet to the beach... right?

Casual Friday

Spring has sprung in the UK and the only way to embrace it is with cashmere, of course. Wearing my favorite dress-like romper and the most amazing piece of cashmere by a talented woman in the fashion industry, who I just happen to be related to. Here's to spring and no longer looking washed out when standing next to a wall...hopefully.

Dot

Exploring Camden in London today in my all time favorite top.  I discovered the other day that everything I own is either oversized or sheer.  I guess thats what happens when you grow up on the West Coast and attempt a transition into winter wardrobe after moving to the East Coast.  This top, however, has managed to make appearances throughout every season I've lived in.  All black with tiny polka dots mixed with large polka dots is really all I need in life.

Esta Vida Loca

On the steps of the Teatro National de Cataluna in Barcelona.  Wearing my favorite soft pants that have changed my closet from an all-black-everything to a mostly-all-black-everything.  The grunge of these pants have helped a lot with color acceptance, and I'm slowly learning to expand further into the world of color. Also, secretly wishing flower crowns were more socially acceptable for everyday wear.

LFW A/W 14

The calmness surrounding London Fashion Week is almost eerie.  Somerset House is comfortably full, but not overwhelmed.  Everywhere you look bloggers and fashion students are dressed up in avant garde extravagance, walking as slowly as possible, and acting surprised when someone asks to take their photo.  I took a different approach to dressing for Fashion Week.  I decided to blend in and try my best intern outfit.  All I have to say about my plan of blending in is that the exclusive showrooms for buyers only are incredible and backstage at Vivienne Westwood everyone from hair & makeup to models to security guards are in the same state of casual calmness that surrounds the outer edges of the venue.

Paris

I found this incredible faux fur vest buried in a tiny little boutique. The navy-ish grey is just enough color to pump up my all black day- to- day, without going too crazy.  I've tried on countless amounts of fur coats/vests in every style, but this is the first piece to make it into my closet.  I wore it for the first time on the rainy streets of Paris last week, and haven't been able to take it off since.

Bathing

This sweater appears far too often in my weekly rotation, but I cannot/will not do anything to change that.  The latty sleeve style has become extremely popular in the past few years, but I swear I bought this before anyone else. It's so perfect paired with my favorite old lace up boots that I will wear until someone steps on the back of my heel and rips the sole off. (again). I can't help it, I'm addicted.

Stoop Kid

I don't know why I love being so shapeless but it's a silhouette I constantly lean towards. I've recently become more daring in layering experimentation and this ruffle dress/ oversized sweater combo has really been working for me. It's a little bit more feminine than my usual uniform, but I think it goes quite well with my neighborhood.
